Rear Disk Kit and Big Disk Front Conversion Kit

These were mentioned in posts with Petrified Rabbit back in july.. anyone know where these projects are at? Rabbit?? I know your probably busy processing all those pm's and posts, what with all your knowledge and shop projects.. any update for us?

There was also mention in that thread of a K bar, and upper strut bar in the front development, interested it updates on these too. The rear sway bar already has several options afaik.

Bunch of upgrades/mods for this car going to be combined into one major overhaul next year.. it'd be nice to add these too!

They are all still works in progress.

The adapters for the rear disk is available. I think it is $140? shipped, for just the adapter. You will need to clearance some the axle's excess forming behind the spindle mount. Overall its how tidy you want the ebrake kit to be.

The k bar and the upper strut bar were a "one off" I could do both again, but the materials needed and work intensity involved in producing them make it sort of costly for just a few bars, shipping would be high too. Both could be discussed further.

The front brakes, at this point, i have discovered the front wheel bearings "interchange" with a few cars.
      example:

Wheel HUB Bearing Front Pair FOR Chevy GEO Honda Isuzu Pontiac Suzuki Volkswagen | eBay

now that being said, I was going to attempt during my next brake job to bolt a scirocco spindle in place on the car. It might need different tie rod ends, and ball joint, but since the bearing is potentially the same I am figuring the splines for the axle were the hardest part to match up, since I would potentially be able press an aveo hub onto the vw spindle, i would be able to run up to a 11" factory vw front brake set up on a vw spindle and "simply" slide the the aveo axle into it.

The guy making the adapter plates for the rear disk conversion has a few sets started, any interest?

its not a hard install but not 100% bolt on either just a little clearance need made for the caliper to the axle casting.

I think he can sell them for $150 shipped. lmk if there is interest.

I was really interested in the rear disk conversion but i decided to just replace the rotors, pads, calipers, drums and shoes with new ones, so not going to be doing this conversion anymore
