Question about Tire Pressure

I have 4 Uinroyal tires that came with my Certified Used 2007 Aveo5 that I just got with 59K miles on it. Tires look almost new, but I don't know if they're original. The manual recommends inflating tires to 60PSI. The tire itself recommends a max 44PSI. This is a rather large difference and am hesitant to go over 45PSI. I've heard a lot of differing information on this topic about other tires and cars. Any input?

Where does your manual say to use 60 psi? Thats pretty high, and while you can probably run them at 60, it'll make your ride quite a bit more bumpy. There should be a sticker on the driver's door jam that says what the recommended pressures are. Personally, I run mine around 40-45 to get better gas mileage.
