Please Help- Brake light switch on Pontiac G3

So a couple of days ago I noticed my brake lights (3 of them: 2 mid rear and one top rear) weren't coming on. After a little looking around we've determined it's the brake light or stop light switch. This is where my problem begins. My stop light switch on the vehicle looks like one thing (the sls-474) -->

but every site I go to says I need a completely different part: --> .


Was or is there some kind of retro fit I can do? The actual part that is on my vehicle is kind of expensive (probably because my model car is not a super common one) and the other part seems easier and cheaper to replace. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

I'd be very surprised if it isn't the same switch that the same year Aveo has.

I do not know your experience, but mine was that the white switch with the arm is on the clutch pedal and the black and white block is the real one. I mistook the clutch pedal for the brake pedal. When one is upside down looking under the dash, my orientation went to the clutch pedal. The brake pedal curves up and toward the middle of the car and the pivot point is nearer the throttle pedal.
