      lowest drop?

since i'm now running 15" steelies; i now want to lower it even more than before.. Intrax is the most drop available, right? Is this brand worth it.

      Re: lowest drop?

i have heard they are all close to the same in quality, but have different spring rates, which somewhat changes the ride.

i have H&R's they ride nice, and a nice drop. (mine is even more though) i have also had intrax, and they seam to be about as good in quality as the others i have had, but tend to be slightly higher spring rate(slightly harsher ride because of that, but better at higher speeds)

i have had eibachs, Intrax ,kareza(sp?), wietecs, jamex, drop zone(not too good), and Vmaxx (not bad for the price), bilstein (coils), etc..

Coilovers? Adjustable for height and preload.
I believe its lowest drop possible.

      Re: lowest drop?

Im pretty sure i have the lowest aveo of all the curent active members on the site.

I havent really measured how much from stock its dropped but i bought Apex coils that lowered it 1.5 inches and after a while cut 2 complete coils off each of them lowering it an aditional 2 inches roughly. You cant fit your fingers in the between the top of the tire and the fender. Rolling with that drop with 17's in summer and 14's in winter.

Of course the ride is rough, but not as much as i thought, its slightly harder then the stock Apex coils, but wow does it ever corner like a dream with the 17's on.

      Re: lowest drop?

coil cutting even on aftermarket springs seems a bit dangerous and more likely to have problems...id get coilovers if i wasnt satified with my drop already you'd prolly get the same drop as Nemasys...jus a bit more coin.

      Re: lowest drop?

you can go back and forth about safe or not, but its more in how you cut the spring if ti will be safe or not.

if seem more factory springs break than any aftermarket cut springs (i wouldn't bother cutting factory springs cause they dont have a stable measured spring rate the length of the spring... and i dont mean they are progressive, i mean the rate is by the complete unit. where as the aftermarket is matched coil to coil.

      Re: lowest drop?

Well the way i did mine, front and rear coils are different so i took the two front ones and made identical cuts at the exact same spot on both and did the same for the rear ones, car sits perfectly level, and its been lowered like that for 2 years, never had a problem, still have the stock shocks and struts too 115 000 km, im pretty sure theyre all shot tho but its hard to tell with the suspension that hard. Getting them replaced this spring with aftermarket shocks/struts.

      Re: lowest drop?

there are KYB rears and last i heard the fronts were still in development. but the downside is that the rears are basically OEM equivalents.

You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
