So what's the deal with replacing the drums if you have the older style with the "drub" setup? Mine are still in good shape, but just want to know what's down the road.
If I order a set of '04 drums from rockauto/gmpartsdirect will I get the drum/hub/bearing, or will I get the revised drum missing the hub and have to order the new hub/bearings?
i think rock auto has the whole thing like you have, basically doing your drum/brakes requires replacing the bearing. where as the newer design does not. I am hoping by the end of summer to have my disks on, so i would be able to sell you the "upgraded" spilt hub rear drums cheap. I also am cleaning out my garage and have front struts.
I have a 2005 with what I believe a one piece rear drum (J41 type). I can't get into the drum/hub? Does it come apart? If so, how? Also, what parts should I order to replace it. I found AC Delco has OEM replacement... but does the replacement have bearing, shoes, etc?
I am doing this... because the rear wheel locked up. I think the e-brake stuck or maybe the something else. I was able to get it somewhat loose (the wheel will turn), but now I can't get the drum/hub open or off. I have loosed the 4 bolts in the back and believe it will come off, but the e-brake cable is still attached.
Any help would be appreciated.

Take the bearing nut off and you'll be able to take the drum and hub off. That's the only way I know to take the drum off. If the brakes are on (i.e. the parking brake is stuck) you'll have a fun time getting the drum off without cutting the e-brake cable because the shoes will block the drum from sliding off.
