Damaged lug nut stud
I damaged a few of my lug nut studs and i cant secure the tyres to the car.
I really cant go anywhere with that condition. The mech said its because i used
alloy lug nuts. Im wondering, where do i get the studs? Is it much work?
Do i have to use studs from aveo or just any other cars that have the same size?
Thanks guys!

you must have used the wrong thread (close enough to go on?) nut, as the correct threaded nut will not damage anything.
studs are kind of standard, if you know what you are taking out, just like ordering bolts, its by size, length, and "head"
any good wheel / brake service shop should have access to them, or if you diy, the parts store.

I didn't think studs and nuts had different styles of thread? Your parts store should be able to get you the correct nut also.

well the oem studs are 12mm x 1.5 which is a fairly fine thread pitch, for one turn of the nut, the nut travels 1.5 mm onto the stud.
there are many pitches of threads, and also many sizes, the problem is you can force a 1/2" x 20 lug onto there. that is a common american SAE size, it has 20 threads per inch.. it will turn on one or two threads, and then you could force it on with an impact, and it will strip the stud.

I forgot about the difference between american and foreign standards. Thanks for the explanation rabbit.

Thanks rabbit, for all the info. I went to repair the studs and changed everything.
