I installed new coil-over shocks on the front of the car. Since it had been some time since I had removed the previous shock and putting the new ones onto the car, I had lost the order of nuts and bushings. Here is the order:

The bearing and bushing fit together like this. This picture is showing the assembly upside down. I bought new for when I replaced my struts to coil over suspensions.


The is the top end of a coil over shock. It's called a cone.


The bearing goes on top of the cone.


Then the rubber bushing goes on top of the bearing.


This is the special nut that fits on the rubber bushing. Notice it has a flange that snuggles into the bushing.


Put the special nut on the assembly and tighten down until it stops. That means it has pulled in all the threads from the top of the coil over.
