I have to get the shipping costs (to me) to know the final final price.

but look somewhere in the $125-150 range. I am trying to keep it as affordable as possible.

Still isnt bad because your looking at $400-450 for the whole coilover setup.. much more affordable than some other ones.

      Re: Coilovers (crosspost)

Has anyone ever tried regular struts/shocks from the MK3s? I know the rears in the MK3s use a "coil over" shock design, so I'm wondering if they'd work.

I'm looking for adjustable shocks, with a low rate spring, and good travel. I don't want to lower it a single MM, though.

if you use just the shock, and no perch, it would work. As the factory set up the spring and perch is too big to be up there (but i am sure you personally are talking about just the shocks, posting that as you cannot use a vw cup kit) i also used bilsteins off a 99 mustang on mine, but they are @ 4" shorter than stock. But that was paired us with h&r springs with one cut coil.. and also need sleeve spacers on the lower mounting bolt.

Hunter, they are done. And i am 99% sure they would work with factory struts as well for a end link upgrade. but the spacing might need changed (add/remover washers and/or longer bolts?)

pardon my ignorance, but what is the benefit of the coil over kit on an aveo?

Mainly: for the adjustable ride height.

Lowering the car can improve handling, and reduce drag. And people just like the way a lower car looks.

But one of the big reasons is if you add larger aftermarket wheels/tires, they can raise the ride height. Adjustable coilovers let you bring the car back down again.

^That plus if you spend more you can have adjustable dampening to fine tune your ride precisely.

The nice thing about the cheap coilovers here is it's less the $400 to have them on your car, which is the same cost as lowering springs and kybs from what I've seen.
