      coilover issues

For all the members with coilovers I have a question. Im having a problem with raising the rear up to the height i need. Reason being im realy pushing to get my wheels that i have mounted on the carthey are just sitting around and i dont want that. i need them to clear the rear fenders with tires or im goingto have to do some serious modification to the rear The wheels that i have are15x8 with a -12 offset. I know it sounds crazy and they are going to stick out but ive got that covered its just the getting to that height that im troubled with. Second i cant ship my car back to the states with it being this low i checked that already. So back to my question ,Does anyone make coilover spacers? Im taking the helper spring out but i need something to put more pressure on the main spring to raise it and the only thingim coming up with is 4x4 ****. Any help would be great

      thanks

The only way I have found to get the wheel above the tire is to go back to an MK2 coilover for me. The mk1's are too short for that to happen.

Is there any way i could just buy rears i love the front ones and i can buy new fenders if i mess this prodject up but its harder to fix the rear panel you know what i mean. I think the passenger side rear is bad it clunks really bad when i go over anything if i could get rears i would be set.

you have more options in germany for VW coilovers than anyone here..

If you have mk1 rears, you cant really go up. that is one of the compromises of low.

short of using a 3" exhaust pipe (or something) to space the spring, i think your issue is the shock will not extend.

The only way to get mk2 rears here in th U.S. is to buy a full mk2 set and just use the rears. I have not found any place that will sell cheap mk2 rears or mk2 fronts separately.

esetuning.com carries them in parts.. or corners. not of the cheapest variety.

would the other style coilovers work though the one that arent one peice with the seperate spring maybe it has less problems. I cant get a hold of the company i bought mine from and im pretty sure the rear are going bad if not already shot.
