Brakes for Chevrolet Aveo 2006 LS (1st car)

Hey everyone,

I'm a new owner of a 2006 Aveo LS with with 165 000 km, it's my first car and I'm planning on practicing with it to get my liscence in Quebec and then sell it afterward (as I don't need a car, I just want my liscence done).

I'm a noob in cars so please excuse me if I post this question here as you all seem like pros and I haven't found the answers in this forum posts (or anywhere):

My breaks are due soon (it's a bit difficult to get it to stop completely) and I was wondering what is the name of type/model of breaks so I can purchase it before going to a garage ? And how is it supposed to cost approximately for the breaks and installation in total? (I'm in Montreal, Canada)
