Bad front spindle bearings replaced (DIY saved $300 vs. dealer).

Heard a minor grinding noise in front end and found out the spindle bearings were bad. I bought 2 Timken bearings for $55 each and paid $71 to have old ones pressed out and new ones pressed in at a local alignment shop. Dealership wanted $500. I saved $300.
2005 Chev Aveo at 149,000 miles.

Thats probably the best way to do it.. I bought the bearing tool for $37.00 so I can change them out myself in my garage.

Looking back, I would have bought the right ball joint removal tool and then just brought the spindle(s) to a shop.

I have a new blog started on what the job looks like.. it's not finished yet. I got my timken bearing at Autozone and it was a bit cheaper than that.

I'd like to know how really good that 110 dollar bearing from Auto7 is.

On Rock Auto.com, the Timken is $34.79 each and the Auto 7 is $96.79 each. Theres 5 other in between bearings as well.

Is there a rockauto nearby? Nope..so add in Shipping and handling fee's and there you have $110.
