Any rear brake conversion kits out there?
I wanna know if there are any rear brake conversion kits for the Aveo in the market...
I mean I was checking out this: http://www.dlspeedonline.com/proddetail ... d=PDSR0342
And it says Rear with ABS, but it doesn't say conversion or anything like that, and I'm a newb with this stuff so I'm not sure if it would work...
Does anybody know if it works, would work or has worked?
Also what about fronts? Are they worth it?

aftermarket discs on the front are definitely worth it. I'm running the r1 slotted/drilled... definitely better stopping performance.
As far as a conversion: kits usually run near a grand ( I think a rear conversion for my Jetta is around $850+shipping), so unless you're going to be racing/rallying, I wouldn't consider the cost vs safety gain practical. You figure most of your braking is coming from the front brakes in either case (up to a 9:1 ratio).
To put a kit together yourself, on the other hand, would be much cheaper.
The benefit comes in brake fade. Generally discs will give you more reliable stopping power at higher temperatures and cool off faster than drums. I've only encountered noticeable brake fade a few times on public roads... and wouldn't consider a conversion based on those few situations. A simple change in driving habits can easily counter these situations if you frequent mountains on your day to day drive (lower gear coming down).
