Suggestions for a new head unit?

2010 Aveo5. Definitely want an improvement in sound, and I'm going to do the smart thing and upgrade the head unit first. And build around that. Any suggestions? Looking to spend no more than $400. I do like touchscreen and GPS

The unit itself depends on what you looking for to do with it. I personally love pioneer and alpine! With Pioneer you get more for your money. I like more sound than display, thats what i had in my Rover (Pioneer DEH-P88RS)! and it will again!!!!

      DEX-P99RS

this is not in the $400 range! Forces me to keep dreaming!

Well you're certainly right. Not quite in my price range haha! But in reference to what you said, I'm definitely looking for a great sound. But I would like the head unit to be equally aesthetically pleasing as I do do quite a bit of driving. CES just announced Android based head units this year. That could be something to wait for.

I have the Alpine CDE-103BT, It's more sound than show, and comes in at about half what you are looking spend. Has no touch screen or gps, but the built in bluetooth works perfectly.

The only thing with that unit is you will probably end up sending it in to alpine to get it fixed, they have an issue in the firmware. Alpine is really good about taking care of you and fixing it.

All that said, I'm definitely an Alpine fan. Pioneer is good, I just don't understand some of their settings.

      2008 Aveo5 SV

I will think of a better signature later.

The link didn't work for me. But I googled it, and I'm actually really liking it a lot. Nice suggestion

And Tidus, that one does look amazing. Remarkable. I've never seen one with 3 motors haha. But just a little too expensive for me. And I came to the conclusion that if I'm going to need GPS, I'll just use it on my phone. So GPS is no longer necessary. But thanks so much for the suggestion!
