So, I'm gonna put a second 12v battery in the trunk because I have like 4 extra (all of which work lol) and I was wondering about the ground. Do I need to run the ground from amp to battery to ground, or can I just do amp to ground and battery to ground? Which way is better, if one is better?
I don't understand. Why would you need more than one battery? What benefit does this provide?Quote:

I understood you.they are both the same. Electrically, the ground wire that is attached to the chasis of your vehicle and connected to your ground on your amp is electrically the same connection as your battery just being connected to ground. in lame mans terms, so as long as you have a connection from your amp to ground and your battery to ground it is the same. you can save a little wire there. so i would wire it how ever it is more aesthetically pleasing to you.Quote:

I used the same grounding point as the factory ground for the rear speakers...very convenient.
Where is that spot at? For my setup I just sanded to some bare metal down on the trunk floor.
Its behind the carpet trim directly underneath the speakers.
Ah. Glad I learned something new. I'm running the upwards of 3000 (actual) watts so Im glad I made my own. xD
Honestly the factory grounding spot should be fine even for that many watts. Also, holy Jesus balls. What alternator are you running?
