I think the RS-82 is only a remote start system and is basically very entry level. The RS-1100 has keyless built in and would work as you desire. I am not sure you are going to get the RS-82 to function with the factory keyless in remote start mode, or you are going to spend a lot of time trying and maybe just buy the upgrade.

Re: Remote Starter
My hope was when I bought it was there is an option that allows you to use the factory remote to start the car (by hitting the lock button 3 times on the remote) then I don't have to carry another fob with me. Ill have to wait to do this for about a month I'm getting married in just over 2 weeks. So hopefully I'll get it figured out after that (and it should be a little warmer out). I'll keep you posted

Re: Remote Starter
i just finished my install, and im having the same problem with oem keyless and alarm :x

Re: Remote Starter
It's not a problem, it's how the car is. If the car is started, you won't be able to lock the doors with the other key fob. My guess is the only way around is a remote starter with lock/unlock feature built in.

Re: Remote Starter
its problem for me, and i found a way to fix it:
In the drivers kick panel find a bright yellow plug. next to it is a green plug with a pink wire, cut this wire in half. then your keyless and alarm will work even with the key in the ignition or remote start on, and best thing the alarm still works so you don't lose anything.

Re: Remote Starter
Good work man. I did a little research myself as to why this works...
That wire is simply what tells the Anti-Theft Module that the key is on. It's the sole purpose of that wire. Here is the diagram... C210 is the green connector you are talking about.

By the looks of it, you cut the Pink and Black wire. If you did cut the pink one, the DRL, Clock, Cluster and Chime Bell might not work. Can you double check that?

Re: Remote Starter
i only cut the pink wire, my clock and cluster works, and my drl is disconected anyways so i can't realy check but im sure it works

Re: Remote Starter
I've looked at other schematics and it looks like there are more than one pink wire coming from fuse F4. That might be the reason why.

Re: Remote Starter
Well I found time on Saturday to cut the pink wire and it is working! I did it at the Control Module under the center console. I was going to take a picture but I forgot to if I take it apart again I will snap a shot of it. Now i just need to make the press the lock button 3 times to start the car it is not working for some reason but I ran out of time to get it hooked up. Thanks deniswhite1 and ontarian_frog for the help!

Sorry to add to an old issue but I just tried to install an AutoStart remote starter model AS-1875FM in my wifes 04. I am sure I will need a bypass module due to the module under the lock cylinder that says IM 800 Imobilizer on it? If I cut the pink wire as mentioned above would I be able to use the remote starter with a key in the ignition untill my bypass module comes in? I dont have one already just for the fact that a few of my contacts told me I didnt need one. Is there any way to bypass the ignition without a bypass module??
