Rear speaker wire colors 2009 Avero5

      Hi there,

My 2009 Aveo5 had the wires cut from the plug that connects to the speakers. The left has yellow and brown wires and the right has blue and aqua (or is it blue and light blue?) wires. They are different from the wires on the head unit that were also cut. A neighbor helped me with that, but I moved.

I want to hook the speakers up, so I was wondering if anyone knew which colors are positive and negative. Also, which spade on the speaker is the positive and negative? One is oriented back to front with a red dot and the other is side to side.

      Thanks!

Thanks! That matches the wiring. I swear I read all the posts, but I guess I missed that one.

How about the connectors on the speakers themselves? I don’t know which one is positive or negative because there’s nothing connected and there’s no connectors. There’s only the red dot and the orientation.

      Thanks, again!

Hmmm. That’s a tough one. The wiring in the harness is gone completely? Is there a different size connector for positive and negative? You could possible check what your other speakers hook up looks like and use that as a guide to which is + or -. Or maybe someone on here can check for you.

You could also temporarily hook the wires up. Push all the sound from the stereo to that corner and listen to which sounds ‘right’. If you have it reversed it’ll sound a lot more hollow without bass. Or since you’ve got it open it wouldn’t be a bad time to upgrade your speakers.
