Post Rear Seats CONVERSION to BUCKET seats

hey guys n girls, its just on the drawing board for now.
im thinking of removing.. well i have removed my back seats lol. and replacing them with either 1 or 2 bucket seats and then maybe some gizmos in the gaps like in between the two seats or on either side of the 1 seat which ever route i take..
just wondering has any one attempted or thought of this...
and any ideas about things that could make it easier or ways to mount it??
im currently thinking either buy the same two bucket seats again and get a universal subfram and just weld it on..
ooorr another idea was to keep original seats. just have take to someone who does custom seats and get them to take the middle section out and re do the seats so they "look" like bucket seats... but i dont know anyone who does that near me.. and im in london.. so they will charge me an arm and a leg

pref keep it as light weight as possible

If you stay with original seats, they won't become too lightweight from that, and IMO its not worth the trouble to modify original ones. The green Aveo Extreme had four bucket seats and Jason on this forum owns the little green monster with cobalt ecotec engine swap, he has one bucket seat in the back surrounded by the roll cage, you could also ask him.

the base of the set would be very high in relation to the front, But you could do it. you would need to weld frames to match the floor.

you could take the stock seats down to the frames, re shape them a little bit and mold them into to bucket looking seats styled like the new CC vw. Where they are still sort of joined in appearance.. but not one seat..

putting in rear seats out ofanother hatchback could be made to work too, if you could find one..

Re: Rear Seats CONVERSION to BUCKET seats

whats jasons member name couldnt find anyone under aveo extreme or jason in the members list

im going to go with the 4 bucket seats approach. its easier this way as the company i got my seats from are still around and still sell the exact same seats.

just need to know how to do it now.. MY CAR IS SO EMPTY

lol the only pannels left is the front dash..
      and..
and.... the rear 2 on the side which have the rear seat belts attached.. NOTHING other than that remains no door panls, no floor carpet nothing LOLL..
looks kinda cool.. SOOO SOO SOOO much space... :\

Match box killer, he posted some pics of his interior here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27818&p=76748. I think he has some on his car domain profile, the link is in his signature.

Thanks Serega, I found that thread after I posted that. I'm a little behind on reading posts due to work, I've been working a lovely 62 hrs a week for the past few weeks. By the time I get home, I shower and pass out so I can get back up in time to do it again.
