It sounds like you'll need a new radio. A quick google search will show you're not alone with GM radios losing displays. My 2010's only lasted 3 1/2 years before the amplifier started acting up. I replaced it with an aftermarket that includes USB input and bluetooth. Couldn't be happier.

I agree its probably toast. Get a good aftermarket one that your going to be happy with!
Aftermarket all the way! You will not only get a custom look that you like but it will make you're music sound even better.
My factory one still worked perfectly, it would play MP3's but lacked any inputs. I swapped it out with this one and couldn't be happier. :)

Just my two cents.

I like that unit a lot Andrew! Was it pricey and does it have many illumination options?
Thanks! It's a DPX300U, the DPX300BT has the bluetooth. (The remote for both is the same, except the call and end buttons don't work on mine.) I got it on sale on Crutchfield for $199 (over a year ago), with free two day shipping. I want to say is has 16 or 20 different color options. It has blue, red, orange, green, purple, yellow, and variants in between. I have the Manual put up, and the box is in my shed with other boxes. lol
Here's the link to it on Crutchfield. :) Kenwood DPX300U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
I compared them at the time, to my knowledge the only difference is bluetooth and handsfree on the BT. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and use it via USB, did the same with my 5s and 4s as well. One of my friends tried to use his Samsung Galaxy S3 via USB but it wouldn't recognize it. I realized later that it could've been something in the phones USB mode settings. It will also work with a flash drive, but I have never tried it since I use my phone.
I was going to add a subwoofer to the car, but after I changed the unit it didn't need one. My car had a dealer installed premium sound package, it does not list the brand and it is not labeled inside the car. This until really optimized them in general and the bass sounds awesome now! IMO this was SO worth the money! :)

let me put in MY two cents before you go ripping out the Factory Head Unit: I actually had this happen to ME this afternoon, and after I safely parked in my Driveway, I removed the Radio/RKE Fuse for a minute (its the 15 amp fuse in the Yellow holder) and that fixed the problem.
Nice! Chewy's rockin the Kenwood!
Too soon for Christmas colors lol?
Well yea, you have to wait until Friday. haha
Do what I do, take it one holiday at a time. ;)

Before you start wasting money on a stereo try this:
Pull the fuse to the radio. There are actually 2. A 10 amp and a 15 amp fuse. Locate their exact positions and then pull them out for a minute or so then replace and that should cure your problem. Mine did the same thing and sometimes it needs a reset.
Sorry but I don't care for aftermarket audio equipment. I find the designs to be too complex and the feel of the knobs to be not as good as the original. My 2011 Aveo5 LT came with an upgraded sound system and it sounds fine. I really just listen to the radio and an occasional CD. So it suits me just fine.
Hello
ok, I am going to try that.
But where are the fuse ?
I have to pull off the radio ?
Thanks
For a 2011 model, the fuse panel is in the left side of the dashboard. Open the door and you will see it there. Open the fuse panel and locate the fuses to the radio. There are 2 and they should be listed on the cover. When you find them, pull them and wait about a minute and then reinsert. That should work as it did for me. Sometimes the stereo needs a reboot. If you are not sure you can always disconnect the positive side of the battery, wait and then reconnect. The good thing about this radio is that it will retain the stations if have them set but the clock will have to be reset and that's easy. It sure beats buying some aftermarket POS and taking apart the dashboard.
Owner's manual in case you don't have one:

Completely disagree about aftermarket being a "POS" and install is the small 1" u-shaped trim piece and 4 screws. (Don't let "taking apart the dash" convince you not to DIY if comes to replacing your radio.) But to each there own.
Exactly to each his own. However if it needed to be replaced well then I would have no choice. On my last car the oem radio did develop a problem. So I had a JVC radio put in and I hated it. Changed it to a Pioneer which was better. Had Boston Acoustic speakers put in which were garbage and replaced those with Sony or Alpine speakers that sounded much better.
I don't begrudge anyone's hobby it's just not for me.
hi
I removed fuse one hour, and .......nothing.
someone know how to modifie the dim of the screen ?
HI,
Sorry it didn't work out for you...as far as I know the dimming of the radio is controlled by the dashlight dimmer control.
Look at it this way, now it gives you reason to shop for a new radio!
The Daewoo radios may be handy and simple, but the display connector design is a faulty design in the earlier top end radios. I attempted to repair an 06 Daewoo unit out of our LT and the edge connector design was about impossible to keep a consistent solid connection. So I had to chuck it for something simple and affordable that I could find. So not an uncommon problem, might get a good used one off eBay if you want OEM.
Are your gauges dimming like they should when you adjust the switch?
My 2006 aveo I installed a new aftermarket radio and it was working then all the sudden it doesn't have so
Yes they dim like normal
