      OEM CD Player upgrade

      Hello,

I have an 07' aveo5 base model with an AM/FM tuner only. I would like to upgrade to an OEM CD Player for ease of installation. I searched this forum a bit, and it sounds like it may or may not be "plug and play" like I'm looking for. These are the OEMs I've found on ebay:

chevy aveo oem cd player | eBay

The confusion for me is regarding the plug types. If I buy an 07' OEM CD Player for an 07' Aveo5 SVM, will it the existing harness fit the "new" OEM replacement CD Player? If not is it as simple as buying a new harness that fits the CD player, cutting off the old one and splicing in the new harness?

      Thanks!

      Patrick

could we get a Picture of your current Head Unit (that's the name of the component your wanting to upgrade), so we can see what your Options are? 90% of the people on here will urge you to go Aftermarket.

ive swapped radios twice and they were both plug and play.

there is a harness change that you need to watch for though, plus you need to be aware of if you have onstar or not.

if i remember correctly, his is a 2007, and the Aveo5 Did not come with OnStar until the 2009 Refresh.

Cool. I was hesitant to go aftermarket as I didn't want something that STUCK out of my dash. I decided on a Kenwood DPX300U. It looks factory, especially at night the green matches the dash perfectly. IMO

      I thought I had a night pic saved, but I don't. :/

      Best of luck,

      -Andrew

Looks great I'm going with a DVD touchscreen and doing the headrest monitors I do a lot of road trips so movies or Xbox with mobile internet will keep my stepson occupied lol
