      name that relay

It was weird. I was driving and suddenly I hear something fall. I reach down and feel around and I pick up a relay!

Now I'm like "What the hell....?" Well I do some looking around and I find this place:

Looks like a relay post with no relay... (driver side, along side the door, under where the main fuse box would be if it was only on the inside of the "cockpit.")

So I pull back the panel to gain more access to the relay so I can put it back. I place it back in and this is how it looks:

After the relay fell out nothing was wrong with the car. It was running fine, all the lights, inside and out, seemed to be working. I place it back in, and nothing seemed to change.

So can someone please tell me what the hell that relay is to?

      Re: name that relay

These high current relays are commonly used for switching high current autosound, security, lighting.

Found from a website with a replacement relay, I'm guessing either the door chime, or car alarm...did those both work when it was out?

EDIT: Just thought about fog lights, if you don't have any it might be pre-wired in which the relay wouldn't matter.

Door chime didnt go off, wipers worked fine, I have no security (no this is not an invite), light or sound system. So I dunno
