Mystery door part
The following plate snaps between the water deflector (barrier) and the trim panel of the front doors on our 2004 hatchback:
Attachment 4696
It's a thin stamped part with foam backing, so am guessing it plays some sound dampening role - like keeping the interior panel from vibrating against the door steel when the speaker is cranked up. Anybody know it's actual purpose or part number? It has no part number on it, is not shown in the catalogs, and the local dealer has no idea. Likely the same part right and left.
It and the water deflector were left off when a PO had some kind of work done on the passenger door. Have a new deflector, but am still looking for the plate. Does anyone know of an early Aveo being parted out by a salvage yard or individual that wouldn't mind messing with something this trivial? None of our local self-help yards have any Aveos at the moment.

almost looks like a pass through if you had power options.. do you?
-
No power options; doors were wired only for the standard speakers.

I have the same thing in my mine. When I replaced my door there was nothing attached to it and I have all the power options.

i have it too in my 09,
when i change my speaker i had the same question,
i was holding that piece for 5 10 seconds and i was like,,, WTF ??? whatever just put it back.
should have remove it for weight reduction. .
mine has no power window and locks.
