my build Starting over on page 9

ok i have been seating an the parts for a month or so, so its time to start puting this staff in to the car. keep in mind that every thing is done on a realy tight budget.
i alrady have a 8 gauge amp kit that is runing my 500 rms 2 ch rockford fosgate amp which in turn pushes a 10" mtx stedgehammer. what i will be doing first is adding another 4 gauge amp kit, new remote wire, and new higher quality rca (3 sets for front and rear speakers, and the sub), im also runing 2 sets of speaker wire back to the front of the car from the amp to run the front speaker of an amp.

here are the amps that will drive the system
PICT2943.JPG[/attachment:mnx3ekjj]
4 ch 600 watts rms for the speakers
PICT2944.JPG[/attachment:mnx3ekjj]
2 ch 450 rms for the sub

its friday so i had lil time but i riped out my old system and will do all the wiring tomorow.

got some 6x9 trim rings off a 99 cavalier sedan that i will fiberglass in to the custom hatch cover, they just need some triming to fit the aftermarket 6x9s perfictly.

here is the heart of the system MTX MXS (7500 for USA), this thing is truely a monster when compared to a rockford fosgate P2 that is a good sub, just to prove that its better. both are 10"s

Re: my build

Careful with the front speakers. You need shallow mounts. Not more than 1 15/16. and that is real close. 2" or more and the window will hit the magnet. Infinity has some 6022si that fit. Most of the components I looked at had woofers with more than 2" depth, so I had to get regular coaxial and tweeters. Oh, BTW, this is referring to 6.5", not the stock 4" speakers. I did the 6.5" speaker mod.

Re: my build

thanks for the heads up i will be spacing em with mdf rings, since i have infinity refrense series in the back, i might just go with infinity ref upfront weather they would be coax or components, or i might go with infinity kappa (higher end) or energy coax or components which are better then any infinity ones but then i would have difrent sound in the front and back. we will see what happends

Re: my build

I think the kappas are gonna be too deep. I looked at those too. If you space them too far out, you won't be able to get your door panel back on. If you like Infinity reference, I would go with the 6022si and get a pair of reference 1022 tweeters. I have the 1022 tweets, but I bought a pair of kenwood triaxels before I bought the tweets. I want to replace them with 6022si. Crutchfield has an incredible deal on kappas, but it is a 2" depth and may hit the window with a 1" spacer.

Re: my build

1 1/2" mdf spacers, wood for hatch cover, and painted the box that will soon get the rockford fosgate P2 10" (will not be used in this install caz 10" MTX in a ported box is going in to the hatch)that will be for sale to pay for things such as capacitor and dynomat. oh and reataching the hatch floor board to the carpit after deep cleaning.

more to come soon
