How to remove factory double din head unit

Hi all - love the forum......absolutely fantastic stuff !!!
I'm DESPERATELY trying to find some help on how to remove the factory double din sized head unit - it's the am/fm radio with mp3/CD player ( ie : stereo ) because I need to get behind it so as to wire up and amp and some new door splits I've installed.
my car is a TK series 2010 Holden Barina ( here in oz it's the same car as the American Chev Aveo ) so advice on how to remove should basically be the same.

      All and any help will be G R E A T L Y appreciated from everyone.

thanks heaps and I'll post se photos of my newly aquired low kilometre MINT condition beast.
      Sincerely

All you need to do is pry out the "U" shaped trim piece (use a flathead screwdriver) then undo the 4 bolts around the radio, and it pulls right out

One last thing - any particular way to get that plastic u trim off without breaking it or is it a matter of 'proceed with caution' ?

Top or bottom first - left or right first - does it matter and lastly, does the American version have RCA's out of the stereo as standard or will I have to use of of those high level input to RCA convertor to run my amp off ?

      cheers

      Grant

I always go bottom right. As long as you pry at the bottom and not the top you'll be fine. Prying at the top will break it. Also, you will need a hi/lo converter for the subs
