Front cupholder
Hi all
New to this forum so this is my first post
I bought a 08 AVEO not long ago and I want to replace the cupholder which is broken, I ordered a new one from e-bay but I have no idea on how to replace it. I disassembled the radio box and AC but couldn't reach the screws of the old cupholder.
Anyone have some kind of idea on how to replace the cupholder?
Thanks in advance
I added a picture of the cupholder to clarify which kind I am talking about.

Hi,
Thank you very much
The page looks very informative

I have the same question but it looks like that site has been sold or changed as the above link no longer points to any sort of instruction. My Aveo is a 2009. I did find one online manual with a limited description but it said to remove the dash panels beside the heating controls. On my Aveo that would give access to the ash tray and cigarette lighter which is above the cup holder. Any hints on how to proceed?

I don’t remember exactly the steps, but I *thought* all ypu have to do is remove the 2 front screws and pull it out.

There are no screws visible from inside the car. Do you have to remove some trim pieces first? Not sure but I am guessing that the whole unit (cup holder, slide, and springs) comes out as a single unit like a radio and then gets disassembled from there but I don't really know.
