Floor console/faceplate thing around automatic shift.

I just bought a 2011 Aveo5, alas, it's an automatic, but I'll put up with it since this is the first car I've bought that has a warranty and isn't 15 years old.

My only complaints about it is that the plastic faceplate thing around the automatic shifter is all scratched up. Other than that, the car looks good. Any ideas if that is a part I can replace?

      Any help would be appreciated.

the silver painted part? is it still covered in the cellophane? it might be...

if not any contact vinyl or paint will work wonders.

I wish I was so lucky. It used to be a rental car, and it looks like someone either scratched it with keys, or maybe had a dog or something that scratched at it. Lots of little scratches all around the shifter.

I was hoping it was a simple plastic cover that could be replaced, but haven't found anything yet. Putting some kind of adhesive over it sounds like a good idea. Now to figure out the proper search term to find what I'm looking for.

it comes with the whole unit:

      like this:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

that would be the best way to replace it. but i would recover or spray it for cost.

Wow, thanks for finding that. Yeah. I'm not spending that much on it. I'm a little bit OCD, but I think I'll just live with it, or maybe look into re-painting it or something.
