take them to an upholstery shop. easiest way and it will look great.
yeah what aveodude said. if you want it to look right dont skimp. let the professional do it.
i don't pay for mods, the point of moding for me is to do it my self, that how you learn and get better at what you do, in other words : built not bought mentality.
so lets see how other peoples turned out
i can appreciate that point but personally i'm kinda picky about my aveo. i love it too much to do something i dont feel i'm qualified for.
Hey Dennis, sounds cool. It will most likely have to be pretty thin leather to make the edges look right. Be sure to take pics of the entire process and a write up on how you did it. I'm going to cover parts of the dash with a charcoal gray suede. Do it myself also.
i thought about doing that, however i had the gray and light gray interior, didnt like the color so i sprayed the door inserts dark black and the center part of the aveo seats black too and even did the carpets black too all for about 20 bucks at autozone with the interior spray paint
later and thats actually a great idea when you do do that tho make sure you take the cloth off it first then put the leather over it so it looks factory and an idea since you are there any way do the seats the center piece with it and if you know how to sow you can have black ebony inserts like the cobalt... i like it, i might do that... thanks for the lil idea... hope its not a pattend
use stretchy fabric. take your time and dont expect to get it perfect your first time.
listen to mike d. over here. man you are like the aveo scientist experiment and i am the rat. you gave me the idea of a lip from HOME DE-POT and i did it. now this i was goin to buy leather but now that fabric is a good idea too.
Different question--
The cloth trim on my inserts is coming loose at the edges. Do I need to remove the whole door panel or do the inserts pop off from the outside? Once I get the inserts off, I'll figure out how to re-attach the cloth (or replace with leather like the OP).
Thanks..--Mike
