Clock Panel Resetting? (not just a clock problem)

Hey guys,
I've had the infamous resetting problem for a bit over a month now, and I've read many posts about it on the forum, and a suggestion to re-solder the joints inside the clock. Well I opened up the clock and looked at the joints and all of the solders are intact and in good shape, and I just realized today (watching the reset happen by accident for the first time) that its not just the clock that's resetting, the entire clock panel, including the warning lights (e.g. seat-belt, etc.) turns off for about 1-2 seconds, and then it comes back to life.

Any insight on this? is this a battery issue? my battery could be old as I bought the car used less than 6 months ago, and I have no idea when they changed the battery (the car is 2005), but I don't have any other electrical issue except this, there are no lights flickering or anything at all, so any input?

The clock unit gets fried in the sun due to its location near the windshield. I bought a used module on eBay for $10 and haven't had a problem since.

I would still wager it's the soldered spots. It was with mine. They're tough to see but it's very fine fractures that start messing with the connection. ChevyCC documents it perfectly in his write-up:

If it's the whole panel, then that means you are loosing battery power. Check your connector from the panel to the car. It could be the wiring between the battery and the clock.
