Child seat and Latch System(Top tether)

While most of you are trying to remove your back seat to make the car lighter, I had to buy a new child seat for my little guy.

Well, I encountered a problem with the Hatchback model.
I installed the seat with no problems with the bottom clips and with the top tether connected in the trunk area.
I discovered the top tether doesn't permit the hatch to close when you have the cover for the trunk in.
The only solution that I could see was to cut about 1.5" off the part of cover closest to back seat.
Or find another thing to use as a cover.

are you going to burn it also?
It looks like the edges are burned to stop them from being sharp.

Let me know how it fits, please.

Yeah, funny how they made it possible to use LATCH, but didn't make it possible with the cargo tray that most people will still use if they use a car seat.

      Here we go.

I used the handy swazall to cut it (it's alot stronger than it looks, couldn't cut it with a ezacto knife), it cut clean, maybe because I used a new blade.
it's not perfect but I'm not building a piano and I'm happy with it.
I also put on my tinted licence plate cover and mounted it with some chrome acorn nuts.
And yes HOLY CRAP MY CAR IS DIRTY!!.

The cutout looks nice. Just get some rubber tubing from autozone and split it, then slip around teh edges to really clean it up and make it look OEM

      Thanks for the pics Clint.
      It looks great.

I was debating cutting only the lip off the underside of the cover but it'd probably be useless because of the tension that needs to be put onto the tether.

again looks great. I asked above about burning it cuz the way the cover looks now it looks like it was melted so that the edges were smooth.
