Center storage area on dashboard (LCD screen question)

I have been looking to no end on info or pics on the center storage compartment on the sedan (between the vents & clock). I am looking to install a LCD screen in there & was wondering if anyone has done it & how much of a PITA it is to run the wiring & such.
Just wondering screen dimentions & such. So I can get it ordered.

I like to do most of the stuff to my cars, before I start driving it so I do not have to keep going back & forth for odds & ends.

Like I said. I been looking on cardomain, google, ect & cannot find pics of a custom setup anywhere...or even a stock dash with the compartment. Can someone let me know something.

you mean right under the radio? when you take the stock radio out and that cubby hole thing it'll be a standard double din opening

If your talking about on top of the dash in the center, I think I seen a car PC how-to on one of the Russian sites.

07 that is pretty much the location. But he removed the center vents. I do not want that, I just want to be able to open it close it like stock.

He has a little pad looking thing attached to where I am talking about.


You can see on my (soon to be ) car, there is a little push button. It opens just like the ashtry, you push it down & it pops up.


Like I have said. I cannot find a photo ANYWHERE of the pocket/storage area. Even been looking for replacent dash photos at online parts stores & none of them have it.

i honestly haven't seen that on any of the aveos ive looked at, but i always though something has to go there..

does you car lack passenger air bags or something?? i am just wondering if i can put one in my aveo..
i can also tell you a lay flay monitor bracket would work in those. we used to have subarus or volvo (can't remember which) that people installed touch screen nav into that same pocket...

I've only seen those compartments on very few Aveos so I guess your just gonna have to be creative and design your own.

I can only speak to the Aveo 2008 hatchback - but it has enough room for a very thin LCD screen. I'd imagine you would have to customize a flip up mechanism. Now, if you were to customize the ventilation tubes that exist there, you could do it with less hassle.
