      aftermarket seats

Does anyone have aftermarket seats in their aveo? I'm thinking of maybe getting some cheapo recaro knock-offs from ebay and installing them. The seats aren't the issue. It's the sliders that's the bitch part. I've only done this once on my old cobalt and what I did was half ass bolted the new seat onto the stock slider and it sat like crap and was way too high. Any input would be great.

I would like to know about this too, there has gotta be some universal brackets that look like swiss cheese that work.

he is saying has enough holes to mount anything..

i would think your plan of reusing the stock sliders is what is needed. Modify them until it is right. I have done it a few times, anything can work. I even put mustang seats into a tacoma.

count me in too - i just did a night of seat research with my buddy for my car and his tacoma and we saw how the mounting brackets are always extra and they do cost a lot... i was hoping to cut down the weight of the stock seats by at least half... and increase lumbar comfort if possible. there are some massive auto yards around where i work where i might find some decent aftermarket seats there but will monitor this thread too - btw does anyone know of certain cars that happen to have really light stock seats? (if any)

there is a few companies that make brackets for us.... cipher auto, Corbeau and wedge brackets are a few that i know of. You can also modify the stock bracket and slider. I know it has been done, just not exactly sure how. Anyways here are some links!

I'm not paying nearly $300 for brackets when I'm trying to put in $150 seats.
