Advice to add a custom Aux Input to Factory AM/FM AveoSVM Radio
Hello! I have a 2007 SVM Aveo5 with standard AM/FM radio. I do not want to change my radio, I just want to ad an aux input (for ipod/mp3 player/otheraudio) for listening options. My plan would be to plug/wire it directly to or in-between the current factory setup and hide it nicely on the side of the middle console, under the dash.
Basically it would not be super visible, but available for use. Since I already have a AC/DC cig converter, I can charge an ipod (or laptop), finally I would need some type of ipod holder. This is all more trivial versus the actual wiring. My basic parameters:
1) Use actual factory radio (not replace it)
2) Not use a wireless modulator (for sound quality purposes)
Often I convert the backseat either to hall the kid or hall tools/supplies/etc for my landlord business so mounting an elaborate trunk system would only run the risk of it being bumped/damaged by a bag of mulch or a shovel. Though I am open to suggestion.

I'm far from being an audio expert, but I'm not sure it's even possible to simply add an aux input into a basic AM/FM radio. I have a feeling using a wireless FM channel is the only option.

Unless you have an auxiliary input on your deck.

I have seen it being done. But it's nearly impossible without a lot of electronics knowledge (amplifiers mainly) and the radio schematics.

I am not afraid to try some more advanced wiring ideas, I have some wiring experience during my engineering studies :)
Let me know if anyone has any specific details to a workable solution.
