It's likely than one or more of the capacitors in the board of the clock failed, and you need to be replace it.

I have seen photos of that board, and it looks relatively simple, so any person with a little knowledge of electronics, an access to a solder iron and a desolder, should be able to replace those capacitors.

Or if you’re not that handy, get a used one from the recycler.

If you are going to replace it anyways, I would give the repair option a try.

Two capacitors of that type cost less than 1$, and you only need to desolder 4 points.

      update on clock

looked at some of the repairs on this clock so i tried it and it seems to work. now if i can get the radio fixed that easy life would be good again. radio seems to work good when it wants to then takes a brake for a day or two. thanks for the help on the clock
