09 G3 Android HU
Greetings everyone. I have an 09 G3. I just bought a 2Din Pumpkin Android Head Unit to put in. I got a Scosche GM1520B Install Kit, a Scosche GM18B stereo connector, and a CRAB adapter for the antenna just in case.
I am hoping this is all the right stuff. It is what Scosche's site said would fit.
Looking at the wiring diagrams on my factory stereo and the new head unit I am able to figure out how to connect the speakers and the positive and grounds. But I want to make sure I get the rest of it right. I've attached pictures of both as well as the color codes for the adapter. If anyone has can help it would be greatly appreciated!

If you've got the right connector/adapter for your G3, you should just have to match up the new stereo wires to the wires on the new connector/adapter. You can do that on your kitchen table. It'll then plug in to the car's plug. You really don't need to be all that concerned with the factory colors. Again, as long as you match up Front Left+ from the new stereo to Front Left+ of the new connector, and so on, you're all good. Make sure you take the time and solder the connections.

Thats good to know. I will definitely solder them. There does not appear to be any wires for the reverse or brake lines on the adapter. I assume I will need to find those elsewhere?

The brake line is there to disable DVD video operation. Just take that positive to enable operation. Check your install instruction if it's ground or positive to enable/disable DVD. The reverse is not a standard signal. You will have to bring that forward and into the radio bay.

This may or may not help you with the reverse wiring:

Thank you intersecty! That was perfect! Very helpful!

Glad that helped. Where did you get the head unit? I would love some pictures and a review of the unit. I have a cheapo Chinese 2 din. The Mp3 player sucks and would not mind upgrading to something better.

I bought it used off ebay for 40 bucks. It had kept shutting down anytime it was heating up. It wasnt the thermostat closing the circuit as I thought at first. It was actually a problem with the fuse. Its one of the Hui-fei units, rk3066, klyde mcu. I'll try and take some pics when i can.
