      rear wiper spray

About 3 days ago I went to spray my rear window as I do from time to time. I had run dry of washer fluid for about 3 or 4 days buts it was no big deal i just filled it up.But only this time nothing was coming from the nozzle. As im sure many of you know It usually takes a second or two to get the spray going. so I held it for about 10 seconds, nothing. fronts worked just fine. tried again, nothing. once more, nothing. decided that i'll check the fuse later since I had places to go.
So today come along I havent touched it since, and still nothing. I just spent about 15 minutes outside trying to trace the problem but to no avail. When i engage the trigger the wiper moves, i can hear the washer motor humming and the resevoir level dips. but once i disengage it goes back up. and I cant see any leaks under nieth the vehicle. i also took a pin to see if any dirt was in the hole, nothing. I then lifted up the cover at the base of the arm and pulled off the hose, still nothing.

Anyone know if there is a second motor for the rear wiper perhaps?, i didnt see a fuse for one, though doesnt really matter i suppose. I need to get it up on jacks to check for any kinks is another thought.

Just thought id post this up to see is anyone else has had a similar situation.

wiper fluid can dry in the lines and cause a clog. typically in the rear hatch since the lines are so long.. and it is not used very often. if you take the hose back off the arm, and try squirting washer fluid in that end, it should come clean. do the same with the nozzle..

not sure if this is your problem. but it sounds like the motor is pulling a vacuum and then the fluid has no where to go.

The Aveo uses the same reservoir for front and back.

      Re: rear wiper spray

there are 2 washer fluid pumps on the reservoir. My problem was that the hose broke where the hatch opens at the top, in the rubber hose that goes from the vehicle to the hatch door.

      Re: rear wiper spray

So I got under the car but still didnt find anything noticeably wrong. I got my father to engage the pump and it does feed fluid out. But im starting to think that I may have pinched theline somewhere when i was rearranging my sub a few weeks ago and had the seat folded forward and carpet up.

The hose runs along the roof in the headliner.

I have an issue with my 08 where the plug for the washer motor isn’t hot. If I switch the plug from the front motor to the rear motor then I get water to the rear. Could it be the switch at the steering wheel maybe?
