Help... 2oo8 Aveo GM safety recall #14093...Also my lights are on and off... HELP

I got this GM safety recall for my car 2008 model yr Aveo...Dated July 2014..#14093..
"Heat generated within the headlamp switch or daytime running lamp (DRL) module, which are both located on or near the left side of the steering column, could melt the headlamp switch or DRL module and cause a fire"

Parts are not currently available..We are working as quickly as possible to correct this problem.. yada ya daya da.. If you have concerns call 1.800.222.1020....which I did today.

My lights have been going out on me. My tail light turn signals are both out, now. The instrument lights show a really fast blinking light when I turn them on to turn. Only are working in front?? sometimes.
i WAS TOLD at the above c/s number that, that was probably that i needed new BULBS? in the back??
ANY IDEAS ??? iS THIS A TOTAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEM???? OMG....
DO YOU THINK THESE TWO problems are related?? Has anyone else had any headlight problems??

Please advise.... I am distraught !!! bummer..

The fast flash indicates you have turn signal bulbs out. Replace the bulbs and all will return to normal. The DRL module issue is totally separate.

my front left turn signal blinks fast from time to time they say moisture bulb was burnt out I replaced it soon the fast blinking started again so I cut out the bulb harness and installed a new one and that fixed the problem for my 06 Aveo. good luck.

WOW... thanks....can I do this myself? I have a few days off work?? Do I buy this from the dealership? or Auto Zone?? I will check out as much as I can... hate to take it to the dealership...but may have too... Thanks- AveoJoe-- appreciate your input..

my instrument lights and tail lights went out the other day, it was the fuse in the engine compartment. but I have no back up lights changed bulbs out and fuses, so I would suggest new bulbs new fuse or if you change the fuse out put new bulbs also, my problem is with the heat here in Las Vegas, the sockets dry out and turn brittle and won't hold the bulb any more because they break!
