2017 Mods and fixes
In 2015, I lowered the car and did some body fixes (http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f81/b...ck-dead-16085/)
In 2016, I replaced my head (http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f82/e...top-end-19864/)
AND NOW 2017!
This is my repair log for 2017. I need to fix some stuff, do some body work, get back to doing my inside mods. Basically all the stuff that I started doing but did not finish from bringing my car back from the dead in 2015.
I was driving in Atlanta and went over a HARD A$$ bump that tore my front ground effect. :-(

I have removed my front bumper and started working on it. I glued back the honda civic ground effect and pop some more rivets. Now it's the bondo sand game. Is there an APP for this? ;-)

Wow, I really like the civic front lip, too bad I would probably destroy it at my height. Attachment 10870Do some dodge charger side skirts like mine.Attachment 10871

Can't see the details on the side skirts. What is a charger side skirt. Alas google was no help.

Melvo, would love some detail pictures on those side skirts and how did you mount them?
Today's work. First we start with a blood sacrifice with the gods to ensure project success. It's important to use a high speed orbital sander to rough up the plastic while burning the skin off your knuckle.
Attachment 10873
I used the ends off the civic bumper to make better looking conclusion to the aveo/civic bumper combo. Sanded and prep before mounting them again.
Attachment 10874
Sorry for the bad focus
Attachment 10875
The other side and better focus
Attachment 10876
I use a slurry of 5 min epoxy and micro balloons. It sands down nice and gives it thickness that does not run. That's the white stuff for the glue.

Repairs are looking good!

Now I need to sand and putty putty sand sand. I should be able to start priming by friday.
OK, I had mentioned that my windshield was broken. I was driving from Atlanta and needed COFFEE. It was 6:00AM in the morning and I pulled into commerce. I missed the Starbucks and drove into a parking lot to safely pull around. Between the backlights and color, I ran into this:

It did this damage to my car:

And cracked the window:

So I started pulling out the A pillar. That is some tough steel there.

More info on the skirts. They are just self tapped to the body with a support beam in the front, still working on how the rear will fit.\Attachment 10888Attachment 10885Attachment 10889
The top is from under a charger/chysler 300, either will do. You can tell the bottom of the skirt is really the top of it when you mount it on the car. The gaps along the skirt similar to the middle picture, you grind/shave smooth so it mounts flush to the body.Attachment 10887 Pic after i first did it, gives maybe 2-3 inches visable lower, dont worry about dragging them, they will compress under the body then just fold back out. Pic on stock wheels. SLAMMED lolAttachment 10890
