I have an 05' aveo with 33k on it and unfortunately need a new clutch and transmission. I am not sure what kind of clutch to get that has good performance but not ruin my car in day to day driving. My car doesnt have any kind of turbo or anything. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks
I'd just go with an OEM style replacement from whoever... If you aren't pushing a lot more torque it shouldn't be an issue and there is no reason to sacrifice drivability.
Do you think a sachs clutch kit would be alright or too advanced?
33K sounds kind of soon to be needing a new clutch, I've had clutches that last over the 100 K miles, I you definitely need a clutch, I would buy OEM, many times SACHS or LuK are the actual item in the OEM box, you can't always know for sure, SACHS or LuK replacement OEM Style should be a good choice.
Coworker of mine had to get his clutch replaced at 35k... he never uses 1st gear though, and is constantly skipping 3-5 or sometimes 2-5 without matching revs

I don't even use my clutch anymore, shift it just like my big rig.

Clutches vary a lot depending on the driver. I too shift over half of the time with no clutch. 33k is pretty bad.
i've bought cars that "needed" a new clutch, and the owner claimed they were undriveable, only to drive them another 30-40k miles and then sell them to another person who actually knows how to drive a manual transmission car..
clutches can last the life of the car if you know how to drive them. my chevette drove 500k miles on its original clutch, and it was still going being driven by friends for another 3 years after i gave it away.
Totally Agree, Clutches last a lot, this also varies depending on driving conditions, lot of city driving with stop and go traffic clutches last much less than the ones driven on mostly highway. I've until now never changed a clutch, and drive only manual transmission cars, these are usually driven over 100 K
