I recently cheked my air filter and when removing the box, the flexible hose attached moved and caused a crack in the hose. It was rotted. I taped it for now, but need the part name to order a new one. Thanks in advance.

Alright, so I'm looking at replacements and actually found a couple OEM replacements for slightly cheaper than aftermarket. With the way this thing just fell apart due to rotting, I'm inclined to go with the aftermarket version. I've read that in many aftermarket products, they work out flaws in the original OEM product that they're copying. I've found three different types.
OEM - ($29)
Aftermarket - Found This One on eBay, but there is no brand name mentioned, which worries me a bit. ($35) (Other sellers had them for $30, but from Hong Kong)
Aftermarket - Dorman brand - This is what is sold by all parts stores online. ($36)
Anyone have any input on this?
I recently replaced my friends intake hose, I got the dorman part, the inlet hose and sensor matched up 100%.
just spend the extra money and get better quality
or just spend a little bit more and get an ebay special sri, it'd make your car sound cooler :D
I have replaced 3 with the Dorman, they work fine. The rubber is identical to the OEM though, so I expect to do it again it 5 years. Our other Aveo had a shattered air box and I couldn't find one locally so I grabbed a Spectre pod filter, some cheap performance intake tubing, and rigged it all up. I cut about 2 inches containing the MAP/MAF sensor from an old intake and put it inline right after the filter. Its ugly as sin, but it works fine and actually cost less then just the intake hose on the others.
