Valve Cover ??? (does it have an empty vacuum nipple?)
Today I took off the TB and the fuel Injectors and did a real good cleaning on them.
This car has 36,600 miles and these things were very dirty. While it was apart I dumped some Sea Foam into each cylinder through the Injector holes. I put everything back together and the car is running 100X better now.
I was having a bad miss when it was Idling. When I started the car it smoker like it was on fire until all of the crud and Sea Foam burned out.
My question is?????
There is a small Vacuum nipple in the Valve cover and I do not have a loose line to connect to it. I do not remember removing anything from this nipple. This connector (Nipple) is right next to the larger hose on the left (While standing in front of the car looking at the motor) back side of the Valve cover directly across from the TB.
Can anyone tell me what is supposed to connect to this nipple?
Thanks!!
I think I got it...duh!!! do I feel stupid
Spoke with a friend this morning and he suggested that maybe ALL valve covers were CAST the same way and that MAYBE this hole was then DRILLED out only for certain models. I do not have any sophisticated way to check for vacuum or exhausting other than my finger or a piece of paper in front of the hole, using these there did not seem to be any noticeable air movement.
On the advice of my friend (Can''t believe I didn''t think of this duh!) I straightened out a paper clip and tried to push it into the hole. It went in about a 1/4 inch and hit SOLID! I don''t know why some engines would have this plugged and some not, but it appears that in my case this is a non-issue.
