      Vacuum Leak

Hello there. New to the forum. . . I actually stumbled across here when trying to find out where the awkwardly placed PCV valve is located, and will now join the clan!

. . . Especially because I have an issue. My 2006 Aveo (Bone Stock) has run like a champ for me for 90,000 miles, save for a wheel bearing, but now, I think I've got a serious issue. The other day, the "Check Engine" light went on for the first time. The next day, I was driving it and it would take a second to accelerate after I pushed on the accelerator; It drove fine otherwise.

Yesterday, though, it started revving on it's own, which, in my past automotive experience, is usually a vacuum leak. The usual source is a clogged PCV valve, which I replaced, but alas, it's still doing it. All hoses, cables and connectors are properly plugged in and connected; There are no chewed or frayed wires anywhere.

Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what is going on!? If you haven't, any thoughts? Any and all input is greatly appreciated!

Did you find out what code was set from the CEL?

I'm guessing I need an OBD II terminal or something like that to retrieve that code. . . Right?

A scanner is nice to have, but Autozone (and probably others) will read the code for free. Find out what the code is and post back. If more than one, be sure to get their sequence in the correct order.
