turbocharged tuning
Instead of cluttering this information in the other turbo thread. I just would like some clear cut answers on the tuning options for those of us brave enough to attempt to turbocharge this little car.
Megasquirt and haltech seem to be the most comprehensive in that they replace the entire ecu and allow a wide arrange of tuning options. Most likely this would need to be dyno tuned by someone who knows what they are doing. Probably also the most expensive and I'm not entirely sure which specific products to get.
The Greddy emanage is just a piggy back unit allowing which taps into the existing ECU and allows for a limited number of options. Also probably still requires a tuner and a dyno.
My questions are what are the best options for an aveo and the safest. And possibly the prices for each option. I'm really clueless as to which option since is the first car I'll ever have that HP tuners doesn't support.

im planning on runing a ecu tune from trifecta, many ppl on here are running trifecta tunes and vince knows his stuff and can tune for turbo
-
I thought trifecta wasn't an option for this car.
-
Trifiecta can tune the ECUs for the 09+ because we share the Sonics ECU from the 1.8. For a first gen aveo u r on your own. I would say piggy back would work, why drop the $ on a stand alone for a car that was slightly over 10 grand new
-
Damn that sucks. Any potential on putting a sonic ecu into a t200 model?
-
I guess that will probably cost as much as a greddy emange piggyback system.
-
So I've pretty much decided on a greddy emanage blue system. Mostly for the costs and the fact I'm not running a lot of boost. Will that system work for the aveo?
-
you might need a seperaate MAP sensor, they make specific ones for emanage
-
Aight, you think I could probably order that with the emanage blue? And this may be a stupid question but the emanage will work on the aveo right?
-
The emanage will work your going to have to wire up the harness wire by wire as it is not plug n play so plan on burning up at least a weekend just to wire it up and depending on what all your going to control off the emanage you may need additional harnesses besides the.main
