timing marks diagram
I let the son of a friend of mine change the timing belt on my '09 G3. It runs, but has no power until 4000 rpm. I think the timing is off just one "tooth" but can't find anything that resembles factory timing marks. An online and forum search hasn't turned up anything either. Can someone help me out? Thanks

Hope these help, out of the 09 manual. Make sure the exhaust cam has it's dowel pin located at the 11 o'clock position (marked as #1), and the marks aligned as shown.

I just did a belt yesterday, you need 15 belt teeth between the tops of the camshaft pulleys, and 54 teeth between the top of the exhaust cam and the bottom of the crank pulley.

I used a cam locking tool from Lisle on my last timing belt job, and it made installing the timing belt a piece of cake. Got it on the first try! Since this one had the belt off the pulley's (when I bought it) I could not use the chalk mark between teeth method like I did on our LT Aveo, so the tool really helped nail the marks first try. I did use a straight edge to line up the cam sprockets, and made sure the crank pulley was spot on. Runs like a champ.
