Supercharger Swap Possible?

Hey, I have a chance to get my hands on a 2.2L Supercharged Eco-tec off a 2007 Cobalt.

Will it fit??

I Know there will have to be some exstensive mods, but generally will it fit?

if I remember correctly that's a screw type charger... the charger and manifold is heug... doubt you'd have clearance without serious modification. I believe a 2.5l SC swap has been done (anyone care to post the link?), so it is possible.

I never heard of a 2.5l sc swap....u sure u didnt mean the 2.0? or maybe the 2.4?

its not going to fit you will have to have a completely new intake manifold fabbed up and all the belts fabbed to fit right i did a lot of lookin around and researching this and you can do it but it would take a lot of work money and time.

Easier (but not easy) to swap in the whole sc Ecotec engine then to modify the sc to fit our engines.

oh no its not.....it would be WAY easier to just put the SC on there...the SS/SC engine (LSJ) is raced the opposite way our engine is faced. There is a LOT more fabricating to get the whole engine to fit vs just the SC

umm if you really wanna supercharge it you should do a rotrex supercharger. one has already been mounted in a kalos and it centrifigal so its easier to moutn plus there is a kit out for the fit so it would be easy to find one, hell you could probably find used ones soon

x2 the rotrex was something i almost did but then all this turbo talk came about and you can get a lot more power out of a turbo.
the only issues with the rotrex really is the mounting....which like aveosam said has been done in a kalos, so its not a HUGE issue...and then the other issue of course being tuning which if your not doing to much can be done pretty easily with a piggy back

I believe I see a supercharger on my favorite aveo =]

Any ideas what it is?
