      Question Stock Alternator

Hey guys, I own a 2011 Aveo and I'm looking into upgrading my stock alternator. Does anyone know the output ratings and model/style for the stock one?

One question comes to mind? Why do you think this is needed? What's the mileage? The stock one should continue to work up to a high mileage which is when the brushes wear. After that, it can't maintain over 12V at the battery with ALL the accessories running. High beams, Rear defogger ... a/c on full.

Or is it you have a huge stereo that needs it?

The alternator is difficult position to get to and replace. I would supplement with an extra battery if your running big a$$ sound system. Otherwise I am sticking with it ain't broke crowd.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

I am looking into this because I'm pushing quite a bit of power with my sound system. I don't think buying another battery is the BEST solution. My stock one is probably outputting around 70-100 amps. But I'd like to know an exact model/style if possible. Its doing fine for normal use of the vehicle. However, when my system starts pushing higher power my lights dim which tells me its stressing my system. I'd rather find a HO alternator to make the power output sufficient for my entire electrical system.

      Turn the volume down .

Your ears will thank you ( and work better ) by the time you become old and grey . Same for anyone riding with you .

And , remember , when you are setting at a stop sign or traffic lite , I probably do not enjoy your taste of music ( noise ) .

      God bless

The stock is 85 amps on an 04, but I'm sure yours may be higher due to more electronics. Power bastards did make one that fits the Aveo, its on mine -- I think its around 200 amps at idle. I had to have it when I was running demo for Rockford Fosgate. I was running 6 T-1 12's in a wall with 2 bd1500cps and 2 bd600.4
