Steve's Build up: Pistons, Cams, Headers, etc.

Okay, so I was reading on the old forum that the Vauxhall Corsa Pistons fit into the aveo and have the 10.5:1 compression I'm looking for.

Does anyone have any clue where to find the pistons? I've been searching for like 30-45 minutes, but can't find the damn pistons.

      Can anyone help?

What do you say we make some pistons then? I was wanting some 10.5:1 compression, I dont know what you would want.

But I did read that the Corsa's pistons are a direct swap, I dont know if that would be a cheaper route, or if your grandfather in law would be...

Depends on if i want to go turbo or na. It's not just as simple as molding a compression ratio piston, there is actually a lot of math involved, but i got no problem maybe having some made up, hopefully i'll see him before the meet

yeah i know theres a lot involved

thats why i was trying to find the corsa's pistons and just get them, or find the specs of them. But its hard enough trying to find the pistons them selves.

What do you mean there's no turbo?

I'm not 100% postive but I am pretty sure there are pistons for your car, especially higher compression ones. I'd look through daewootech.com pretty well as it's been discussed on there many times

I should probably get an account there shouldnt I? since it is a daewoo, and I hear a lot of helpful things that people say they found from deawootech. hahaha

I'll get an account, and I'll do some researching and looking around.

      thanks.

I found this seller off of Ebay.co.uk and emailed him.

      ME:
      Hello,
I was wondering (since you have the piston rings), if you have the Pistons for the X16XE engine/Vauxhall Corsa. 10.5:1 compression for the 1.6L 16V DOHC. Or if you know where I can find them?

      Thank you!
      Steve

      redmansenginecentre.co.uk:
yes we can supply these £48.49 each plus p+p regards dave 01253 778969

Before I buy them... These will work with the aveo, right? I jsut want to be sure (or reletively sure). Thats what the Old Aveo forum said.

And for this, all i have to do i swap the pistons or is there something else i should do?

get new rings, gaskets, install lube....and patience....and maybe a low gas tank in case you need higher octane gas...
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.
