It was running a small td04 turbo, depending on how much money you want to spend you can make great power! The ecotec heads are a very good design standard! I'm not to clued up on the compression ratios etc of the chev motors but if they like the opel/daewoo motors then it shouldn't be too hard to add some sort of forced indduction. As for turbo vs supercharger its all dependant on how you want the power but turbo is normally the easier and cheaper option but not always! The turbo needs less fabrication and if all is done properly you can easiley upgrade to a larger turbo and make more power. Where as the supercharger is not always so easy, custom pulley, belt tensioners etc to be made. Each way has its ups and downs though

true true. I might look into putting something similar to a td04 in. I would like to be getting a pretty serious gain in power though. It's going to be heading to a track day in about 2 months and its "AWD" day, which means lots of subis and evos. Id LOVE to be able to beat someone at least with a barina. It would totally complete me haha.

What's the compression standard on the motor? If you have comp of like 9.5:1 and a very good octane fuel, then your set and don't need to drop the comp much! Then you'll have great off boost drivability and good power
-
I have no idea about comp or any of the details. I know its the 1.6L engine and that some people around the world have had pretty amazing results with this engine. But thats all I know. I know enough about turbos to get myself into trouble but no clue on this engines specs.

the td04 is the one that comes stock on a wrx isnt it? I think I have heard of it somewhere...
-
td04 is from the PT Cruiser. At least that is what Google says.

I am running a custom made turbo kit for my 2012 1.6L Aveo. It runs great, just 7 psi with stock internals. 50% more power. 125 HP at the wheels (dyno).

Fever, what do you do for fuel management?
-
A custom made unit that let you tune the air/fuel mix, it runs along with a wideband sensor and other sensors.

Feve, What header and turbo did you use?!?
