Serpentine belt tensioner pulley removal HELP!

The serpentine belt on my girlfriend's 2004 Aveo has gotten extremely loose because the serpentine belt tensioner pulley is going bad. I bought a new pulley mechanism from O'reilly's but for the life of me, I can't get the two bolts out to remove the old pulley mechanism. Does anyone have any advice?

Its flopping around pretty bad I don't want her driving around with it how it is. HELP PLEASE!!!

Try to get more leverage and turn the bolts real easy. I can't look right now to see the clearance you are working with, but if you can extend the handle of your wrench or ratchet that should help a lot. Find a pipe that fits over the handle of a ratchet is a great way to add leverage.

      Good luck.

I will think of a better signature later.

thanks, but its really not a matter of leverage, its really that the bolts are located behind the AC pulley and they're just tough to get to. Not to mention the fact that its COLD!!

the compressor bolts need to be removed and the compressor will have to be moved out of the way, its not hard just a pain in the butt due to access for the bolts
