Sawp?!?!?!
Hey guys, I am just wondering what is the best swap to do on a 2008 sedan? My car is paid off and it is getting up there in km's. I have been thinking of doing a sawp for a while and I would like to swap in something with a little more HP that also could be easily turned into a turbo project. Just looking for some input, my brother in law is a mechanic and we would be able to do the swap ourselves. If you don't have anything helpful or positive to say please don't bother responding because I love my car and enjoy modifying it!

Yah I have been thinking about the LSJ alot of work though, I was also thinkning why not just buy another 1.6 engine build it up and do a turbo with that and then swap that in. thoughts?

The 1.4t out of a sonic or cruze, the 1.8 out of the same. A vxr engine (1.6T). Even the 1.6 out of the 09+ aveo.. would all be "easy" swaps. The 08 has the older engine in it though, so you might need more wiring.
You could go to a 2.0 daewoo engine, as well as a few other model engines we dont have in the US. (captiva?)

i was thinking of doing the same thing when i get a truck to replace my aveo, bring in a European diesle from an aveo and it should drop in.

Whitfield racing has a swap for sale, actually I think they're selling their already swapped track/street built aveo as well.

LNF from a 2.0 turbocharged Cobalt SS (08-10)... :thumbright::thumbright:
It already comes turbo'ed with 260 HP / 260 TQ, and can be easily tuned to 280 HP / 320 TQ with only a factory tune and upgraded 3 bar map sensors
EDIT: It's spelled sWAp, not sAWp (see thread title)
