RPM meter doen't work after removing battery negative cable

My chevrolet aveo 2015' RPM meter does not work after removing the battery negative cable. The needle remain at zero even when I accelerate. Does anyone know how to reset the system for things to come back to normal condition? Thanks a lot

I have a similar problem. I disconnected the battery and cleaned up the starter connections. Put everything back together and now none of my gages work. I am only thinking one of the grounds that went to the gage cluster must be broken inside the sheeth?

      Check the fuses, 15amp usually.
Clean and tighten the terminals and remove any gap caps, those little metal caps on the battery posts cause electrical issues sometimes. Use a good dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.
