Replacement Stock Filter options AEM vs K&in

As I maintain my car and replace necessary parts, I have been trying to make small modifications to improve performance (alloy rims, added fog lights, small exhaust modifications).

I am considering adding a higher flow air filter like a K&N OEM replacement (33-2320) or the AEM dry flow equivalent.

Both th seem to cost just under $50 and I was curious if anyone had any info of reviews of these filters?

I want the slight improvement in performance but don't want the risk of a CAI sucking up water or anything.
